Excellent post - very well written and very accurate. 'Uncle Timmy' is unfortunately a sign of the times, hopefully brides will slowly become more aware of the pitfalls of having a friend machine gun their wedding.

"One of the things that separates really good photography from OK photography, is that the former leaves you with the thought “this is what it felt like to be there,” vs. “this is what it looked like to be there.”"

Loving that quote Steve - it is so so true.

We concur! Friends of ours are getting married soon and when we asked them if they had a place in mind for photos (since it is 5 hours away).
They beamed that the venue had a beautiful gazebo and garden. I think we dropped a collective 'f-bomb' in our heads. They were so excited and I all could think of was how bad that garden of red and yellow ever blooming flowers is going to go with their periwinkle theme. Yeesh! And you can't just talk them out of it... they'll freak! A few polite 'ya ok, gazebo cool' shots to make them happy I'm sure. 'Til then I'll be google-ing wedding+gazebo to get some not-so-bad ideas. Oh boy. I'm glad somebody finally said it! Gazeboooooo!
