What a great day we had!! A brightly sunlit day on the Hudson River in Hoboken can be fantastic lighting for engagement photos. There is always something new to do, and places that are meaningful to my clients. For instance, one of these locations was where Billy proposed to Erica Love this couple – can’t wait to photograph their wedding at The Palace at Somerset Park next year!

I feel so fortunate to be a part of Group of 10 for many reasons, one of them being that I feel I am amongst some of the most talented, skilled and experienced professional wedding photographers in New Jersey and New York. When possible, we work with eachother and provide our brides and grooms with unparalled coverage and creativity! I was fortunate to have the talented photographer David Mialcarek at one of my recent weddings at the beautiful Pleasantdale Chateau. At different times we captured the feel of the preparations in progress, and then in tandem were instinctively capturing reactions and reactions.

When I recently photographed Jill and Frank’s wedding at The Venetian in Garfield, NJ, I knew that it was slated to be published on 201bride.net. The florist, The Little Flower Shoppe in Ridgewood, NJ, transformed the entryway of the Venetian into a tropical garden. It was beautiful! Because of the scheduling for the day, I knew I would need additional coverage. Happily, Scott Bush from our Group of 10 network was able to work with me.

Two of my very favorite locations! I love this job - we get to know eachother better and start to develop the trust and insight that makes for beautiful images! Photographing Lindsay and Mike was so much fun, I truly wanted to keep scheduling more location shoots. We had one really glorious day at the Jersey shore, and another beautiful day in Manhattan. Even though these types of photo shoots are not candids, they always seem to capture the incredible little moments and real feelings between the couple.
 

One of the things I love most about being a New Jersey/New York based wedding photographer is that there are a variety of cultures, venues, and most importantly, personalities to capture on wedding days. Wedding photography is reactive, intuitive, and aritistic.

Our job, without question, is the ability to enter into any situation and photograph it in the best way possible which suits our client’s personalities and environment while telling a complete story. It could be inside or outside, light or dark, rainy or sunny, cold or hot, previously seen or not seen. For example, it’s as lovely for me to photograph a wedding at The Pleasantdale Chateau in W. Orange, NJ, for the 30th time as it was the first time.

Each day to me is new and very different from the previous wedding, and each couple deserves a fresh, creative and artistic process that captures them! All of the following photographs I shot at The Pleasantdale Chateau during different seasons of the year, the first four being my most recent (and probably about my 30th there!) wedding from June of this year.

Each day, and at every wedding I am inspired by the capacity of love. What amazes me is how different wedding day celebrations can be, yet the commonality is always the strength of love, honor and family.

A part of what I understand is this:

The heartfelt pride and mixed emotion of a daughter getting married, and gaining a son.

Our pets are part of the family – always.

Running after geese in a field is not a crazy idea on your wedding day!

I totally get it little guy, tuxedo-thing, not getting dirty, waiting around.

Complete and total devotion and friendship come together during your wedding ceremony.

Sometimes the simplest gestures are the most beautiful.

It may have been a rainy day but the night sky was magic.

Love is uplifting and energetic

Happiness and devotion happen in a way you can never imagine until you become one (a parent).
